- Hi: I have a brandnew MICRON PC with a Supra 288i Sp Internal
- Speakerphone Modem w/Voice Mail. It can connect my computer to
- online service, like CompuServe, but it seems a DUMB! When it is
- dialing, you can not hear ANY dial tones and hissing sound when
- it is success. You just do not know what is happening when you
- dail a number. I have called MICRON tech. support for sereral
- times and talked to 5 different people. Nobody knows how to
- solve this problem. They even sent me another brandnew modem,
- but the new one still works exactly the same way, another DUMB! I
- tried to reset the speaker volume for modem (in modem setting
- windows) to maximum and turn up my external sperkers (25 Watts
- each) to maximum. But It does not do any good. The modem still
- keeps silence. (by the way, is the modem suppose to use internal
- or external speakers?) I also tried to reinstalled the modem and
- the driver. No way. I am just very frustrated and do not know
- what else I can do. Do you know what causes this problem and how
- to solve it? I am running Windows 95 and have a Sound Blaster
- Wavetable AWE Sound Card (16 bit). The modem is a 28800 bps
- Full-Duplex Speakerphone Modem which has a integrated 16550 UART
- (w/16-Byte FIFO). Albo I tried to make a call by my computer. I
- could dial out but the modem was also silence.

- Any helpful info will be most appreciated.
